Summary/Objective
:

This position is responsible for electrical service work for a diverse portfolio of industrial, office, and retail properties. This position uses independent judgement to resolve various electrical issues on a daily basis.


Essential Functions:

  • Installs, repairs, maintains, and operates all electrical systems and equipment.
  • Re-lamps various lighting fixtures.
  • Replaces ballasts in nonworking lighting fixtures.
  • Maintains parts cage and keep in working order.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and materials.
  • Ensures clean working area at the end of the day.
  • Reads blueprints or technical diagrams.
  • Inspects electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers.
  • Identifies electrical problems with a variety of testing devices.
  • Repairs or replaces wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
  • Follows state and local building regulations based on the National Electric Code.
  • Keeps records.
  • Provides work direction to electrical assistants.

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position has no supervisory responsibility but directs the work of electrical assistants.


Work Environment
:


This job requires working in commercial spaces including but not limited to industrial, warehouse, and office environments. This position will require working indoors and outdoors in various climate conditions ranging from very hot to very cold with rain. This may include confined spaces.

  • Regularly requires sitting, walking, bending, and lifting for prolonged periods of time.
  • The employee must have a full range of body movements including the use of hands feet and fingers to handle or feel objects and must be capable of bending, reaching, and crouching.
  • Able to handle or feel objects and use tools and equipment and must be capable of bending, reaching, crouching, climbing and crawling.
  • Must have command of all five senses sight, hearing, touch, smell and taste. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus. Must hear and speak well enough to conduct business over the telephone or face to face for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to lift 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to exert up to 20 pounds of force.
  • Must be able to use a ladder.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.


Travel:

Some travel is required, mostly within the local area.


Required Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Trade School and 3 years electrician experience OR 5 years’ electrician experience.
  • Valid driver’s license.


Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Knowledge of AC/DC Circuits, Machines, Electronic theory and components.
  • Must be skilled in the use of hand and power driven tools.
  • Correctly interpret complex detailed electrical and electronic drawings and prints.


Work Authorization/Security Clearance:

Must be able to legally work in the United States.
